Huhu ihr Lieben, ich dachte mir mal, wir könnten einen Thread gebrauchen, in dem wir über die Bedeutung oder den Sinn der einzelnen Songs diskutiern können, sofern wir das wollen und das nicht schon aus Sarahs oder Gerts Erklärungen (Interviews etc) wissen..

Klar, die Bedeutung kann jeder anders auslegen, für sich interpretieren und das macht die Musik ja auch so wertvoll.. aber für mich gibt es einige Songs, da steig ich einfach nicht durch.. und ich würd euch jetzt gern, wenn ihr wollt, mal nach euren Ansätzen und Ideen fragen, weil ich hab echt Brett vor Kopf

Deswegen frag ich jetzt mal:

In your Room - ich steig da nicht durch, was soll das ganze eigetlich sein??
Hab mir gestern mal die Lyrics begleitend durchgelesen und wieder mal feststellen müssen, dass ich absolut keine Ahnung habe, wovon das Ding überhaupt annähernd handelt

In ganz schnell und eilig, kann ich mich daran erinnern, daß Sarah mal erzählt hat, sie hätte diesen Song ihrer bestenFreundin geschrieben. So und mit dieser Info könnt ihr jetzt anfangen zu analysieren. (war Sarah mal fett, weil sie den Stuhl zerbrocxhen hatte? wieso konnte sich die Freundin nur eine 1-Zimmer-Wohnung leisten? usw usw)

Aber *I know there's truth for you, somewhere, if I were wise I'd take you there* hab ich mal einer sehr guten Freundin gesagt, weil es mir genau aus der Seele sprach. Besser hätt ichs nicht sagen können und sie hat sich sehr gefreut. Daher einer meiner favourite songs. (Passiert mir öfter, dass einzelne Zeilen aus den songs total Sinn machen, wohingegen mir der Gesamtzusammenhang etwas verschlossen bleibt.)

*gg* ja, bei allen Songs ist das (bei mir zumindest) nicht nötig, einige machen für mich einen so totalitären Sinn, dass ich mich von der ersten bis zur letzten Zeile "self-expressed" fühle

Was fürn Stuhl? Und wieso Farben?

Und wieso betrachten die sich ständig gegenseitig (beim Tanzen?)
Warum diskutieren sie über ihre Haare..

Aber wenn ich mir die Lyrics so unter Mephs Tipp durchlese, fangen sie an, ganz leicht Sinn zu ergeben.
Was mich daran allerdings irritiert ist die Zeile:
As she embraces all of me
I want her only to need me
passt für mich eher auf eine Gefühls/Liebessituation..

@ Magenta: mir geht das aber auch oft so, dass eine Zeile eines Songs mich total berührt, während ich ihn in der Gesamtheit gar nicht verstehe..

was ich unbedingt noch loswerden möchte, unabhängig davon wer richtig oder falsch mit der einen oder anderen Interpretation liegt: Wichtig ist doch, dass wir für uns texte gefunden haben, die wir evtl. auf unser Leben umdenken können, die einem aus der Seele sprechen. Vielleicht, oder sogar wahrscheinlich interpretieren wir dabei sehr viel falsch, oder anders, als es ursprünglich gedacht war.
Aber genau das ist , so finde ich ja das spannende an der Lyric. Ich fänd es super wenn sehr verschiede Sachen hier in diesem Thread, bzw. demnächst im Forum zu finden wären...!
Für mich gibt es ein RICHTIG liegen nicht...
