Und mir gefällt es sehr gut, also ich finde man verpasst schon etwas. Es gibt sicher bessere Songs, aber der schlechteste ist es meiner Ansicht nach sicher nicht.

Durch den Satz "They had chosen to party the day they dropped the bomb" kam ich darauf, dass es um ein historischen Ereignis gehen müsste. Oder ist das nur symbolisch gemeint?
Ich dachte an einen Tag, an dem eine Bombe abgeworfen wurde und Leute, die entweder zufällig an dem Tag paradoxerweise gefeiert haben oder sogar just den Tag feiern. Vielleicht liege ich aber gaaanz falsch.

Hm, ich müsst's mal hören. Wo ist das denn nun drauf?

ich hätte das jetzt nicht auf ein historisches ereignis bezogen, sondern eher als allgemeine kritik an (amerikanischer?) oberflächlichkeit und ignoranz gedeutet. aber gut... wer weiss...

Ich seh das auch so wie Hobbes.

their mouth filled with chocolate and strawberry pie.. find ich auch sehr passend, weil es eine sehr starke - und sarkastische - Metapher auf die Feierwütigkeit des amerikanischen Volkes ist. Sie feiern das Wochenende, Helloween, Thanksgiving und eben auch die "gewonnenen" Kriege.
Ich denke, es ist einfach ein sehr cleverer und ziemlich treffender Song über diesen Egozentrismus und die schräge Sicht der "Weltverbesserungspolitik", der sie nicht einmal davon abhält irgendwelche dubiosen Kriege zu feiern.

1. Ist die dritte Fanclub CD nach 2000 Seconds und Home und war glaube ich innerhalb von wenigen Wochen ausverkauft.
2. Wovon der SOng handelt, weiß ich auch nicht so genau, habe mich auch nie eingehend damit beschäftigt, da ich ihn nicht leiden kann!
Kann micha ber auch an keine Äußerung von Sarah oder Gert dazu erinnern, klingt nach nem Gert Song. Die Interpretation, die hier gepostet wurde, macht doch Sinn, oder?
