Hallooooo Eviiiieee (und alle anderen )!!!

War das ein HAMMER Konzert gestern Abend !?! Bin immer noch ganz sprachlos (und fertig und müde... ,aber wurscht!)!

Ich wollte eigentlich auch noch ne kleine Review posten, aber wenn Evie das erledigt, geht das natürlich auch absolut in Ordnung (zumal ich auch gerade in der Uni sitze und den PC nicht so lange blockieren will)
@Evie: Wenn du was gaaaanz wichtiges vergessen solltest sag ich Bescheid, ok?!

Was ich aber jetzt schonmal erzählen will und muss:
Sarah hat mir am Merchandise-Stand nach dem Konzert erzählt, dass sie im August nach Berlin und Köln kommt!!!!! Es hat sich ziemlich definitiv angehört - also nichts mit "we're trying to confirm something" oder so! Ich glaub das zwar auch erst, wenn ich sie wirklich auf der Bühne stehen sehe, aber immerhin hat man so schonmal wieder n bisschen Hoffnung, dass sich da eventuell noch was tun könnte!

Oki, ich muss dann auch mal wieder los - Vorlesung geht gleich los...

So, mein review... in English...sehr detailliert.

my first Sarah concert


Yesterday Sarah Bettens was playing here and it was a great evening!

The concert took place in a small hall at “De Ooosterpoort”, a well-known venue where many concerts take place every year. Because I wanted to make sure that I would be in the front, I was there about one and a half hours before the doors opened. While waiting, I met Andie and some other nice girls from Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. One hour before the concert, they let us into the hall. And I really made it into the first row! Sarah’s opening act was a young guy who calls himself and his band “Venus in Flames”. He played some nice songs and accompanied himself either on his acoustic guitar or on the keyboard. After about half an hour he left the stage we were waiting for Sarah.

Finally she came on stage at about half past nine and opened her set with "Go". Among her band members were Eric Grossman on bass and Koen Lieckens from K’s Choice on drums. Already the second song of the evening was “Fine” and everyone sang along with her.
Besides the three remaining songs from her album she also played some K’s choice songs, “almost happy”, “busy”, “butterflies instead” and “not an addict” which made the whole audience jump like crazy. I also really liked her new songs which she played and which are not released yet, my favourite one was “not insane”.

Sarah also seemed to be in a really good mood and was talking quite a lot to the audience, said “Dankjewel” (“Thank you”) quite often and made some jokes and funny comments (in Dutch/Flemish, maybe I can try to remember some of them...). She also said that her new songs will be released probably in October or November. During “Busy” she made us sing with her and at the end of the song, two of her band members took a little boy who was standing in first row (too) on stage, Sarah gave him the microphone and the whole crowd cheered for him.

And as I was in first row I could see everything perfectly and all of Sarah’s facial expressions, above all her gorgeous smile! In the end she and her band she and her band came back on stage once again for two encore songs, “everything for free” and “turn around”, the latter being an acoustic one, with only Sarah and her drummer on stage.

After the concert we left the hall and went outside to the merchandise stand where Sarah signed and signed, CDs, T-Shirts, etc., until really everyone had an autograph. When you stand in front of Sarah, only then you notice how skinny she is actually is... And finally it was my turn and she signed the cover of my copy of her album As I talked to her in English when I wished her all the best for the rest of the tour, she thanked me “for coming all the way here”.
Overall it was a really great evening and I hope to be able to see her live again one day!
